Japanese cultural festival to commence in Tehran, Kashan

Iranian cities of Tehran and Kashan are to host a Japanese cultural festival.

Two Iranian cities of Tehran and Kashan have been set to host a Japanese cultural festival.

To be opened at Tehran’s Arasbaran Cultural Center on December 2, 2017, the festival will include a performance of Japanese folk music concerts, the Japanese tea ceremony and origami workshops.

The Embassy of Japan, the main organizer of the event, announced that paintings from a number of Japanese artists, photos of tourist attractions of the country and a collection of cultural products will also be showcased in an exhibition which will run until December 9.

A duet by Ichitaro, the renowned Japanese Taiko-drummer, and Shinobue (a Japanese traditional flute) virtuoso Koji Kishida will be performed as the opening of the festival.

The Ameriha Hotel in Kashan will also host the reiteration of the duet on December 4.

Tehran’s Melal Cultural Center has also scheduled to celebrate December 7 as Japan culture day.

The celebrated Japanese musician Aki Kuroda will perform a piano recital during the festival which will run until mid-January 2018.
